What early testing taught us about habit tracking and friend streaks
Early testers are generous and blunt—the best combination. While dailio is still in development, their feedback has already reshaped invites, language around friend streaks, and how we explain the week row. This post is a transparent summary for anyone comparing habit tracker apps before we launch soon.
What surprised us
- Social anxiety scales down, not up—even tiny groups worry about judgment.
- People want defaults they can trust without reading a manual.
- Missed days feel heavier in shared habits; copy matters more than we expected.
What we changed
We tightened language in notifications, revisited what friends see by default, and improved onboarding so solo habits feel complete without “going social.” None of this is finished—pre-launch iteration is ongoing—but directionally, we are optimizing for long-term trust.
