Habit reminders that respect your attention: dailio’s notification philosophy
Bad reminders feel like a boss. Good ones feel like a friend who remembered what matters. dailio is building notification defaults for a habit tracker that values trust—especially while the app is still in development and we can still rip out patterns that feel spammy before launch.
What we avoid
- Re-engagement tricks unrelated to habits you chose.
- Guilt-based copy designed to spike opens.
- Social pressure notifications that embarrass you to a group.
What we optimize for
Reminders should map to a habit you opted into, at a time window that still makes sense, with wording that respects a bad day. For friend streaks, we are especially cautious—pings should coordinate, not punish.
